ABOUT
We’re launching the 15th annual Kleiner Perkins Fellows Program! For 5 decades, Kleiner Perkins has partnered with founders to build iconic companies that made history, including Figma, Rippling, Amazon, DoorDash, EA, Genentech, Google, Intuit, and Slack.
The KP Fellows Program identifies the country’s top technical students for an incredible internship in our portfolio. Accepted applicants will get access to exclusive events with industry leaders and join a community of like-minded, ambitious, and entrepreneurial rising stars in Silicon Valley for the summer.
Who can apply for the program?
The program is open to university students who are studying computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or fields related to software development.
When can I apply?
Applications are now open until 11:59pm Friday, October 10th. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
What is the application and selection process?
- September 10 to October 10: Applications for KP Fellows are open.
- By end of October. We will let applicants know if they have made it to the next stage of our process. Selected candidates will be shared with our Portcos with open internship positions.
- By December. We will let applicants know if they have been selected for interviews with KP Fellows Alumni and Staff.
Will I get to choose which companies I interview and ultimately will be a Fellow at?
Yes! We run a matching process for selected applicants that will connect you with KP Portfolio Companies. You can also apply to any KP portfolio company you’re interested in.
How many Fellows will Kleiner Perkins accept?
We would like to offer a spot in our Fellows Program to every talented individual who applies, but we also want to ensure that each Fellow has the best possible experience during their time with our company partners. Therefore, we are limiting the number of Fellows based on the few positions per participating company where Fellows can play an important role and benefit from high-quality mentorship.
Is the Fellows Program paid?
Yes. Compensation will be very competitive and the terms are negotiated directly between the student and the portfolio company where they will be employed.
When does the program take place?
The start and end dates will be negotiated between the student and the startup, but most program-wide summer events will be held between June 23rd to August 29th in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Will I have an opportunity to interact with companies besides the one where I’ll be working?
Yes. Although Fellows will be working at one startup for the duration of the summer, the program is designed to provide you with many opportunities to meet people at other startups, at events hosted by Kleiner Perkins as well as events hosted by startups within our portfolio.
