Jason Zhao is a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers China. Since joining the team in 2013, he has focused on investments in internet, mobile, media and consumer services. Jason works closely with entrepreneurs including JD (NASDAQ: JD), Arrail (HKG: 6639), Rong360, Ximalaya, TanTan (acquired by NASDAQ: MOMO), Asia Innovations, Miaozhen Systems, and OMI as board director or advisor.
Before joining KPCB China, Jason was an investment manager at Hony Capital, where he focused on cross-border late-stage/buyout investments in the internet, mobile, and clean tech sectors. Earlier in his career, Jason was a Program Manager at Microsoft, leading product design and management at PowerPoint in Silicon Valley.
Jason holds a M.B.A from Harvard Business School. He also received a M.S. and B.S. with high honors in electrical engineering with a minor in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
