Kadir Barry joined Kleiner Perkins in 2021. As head of technical talent, he partners with founders to build their executive teams with engineering, product and design talent. Kadir advises Kleiner Perkins' portfolio companies on hiring practices, compensation philosophy, and recruiting software tools, along with diversity and inclusion strategy.
Kadir began developing a proficiency in technical talent development at Google where he was exposed to several areas within people operations. He joined Twitter early on to help build their software engineering organization from startup all the way through IPO. Kadir went on to join Lyft where he helped scale the team from less than 200 employees to 3,000+ across the country. While at Lyft, Kadir took a sabbatical leave to join the White House as part of a group that built the US Digital Service team during Obama's administration. Most recently, Kadir was part of the autonomous vehicle startup Aurora Innovation where he focused on building the robotics engineering teams, as well as their product management org.
Outside of work, you'll find Kadir mountain biking, dancing salsa, or playing board games with friends.
